How it all started
It all begins in middle school, where my interest in photography first sparked during a history class I had in 8th grade. We were delving into the complexities of World War II, and throughout our lessons, my teacher would bring the past to life by showing us powerful images from the war. I was immediately captivated by these photographs and their historical significance. When you capture a photo, you're not just snapping a quick moment; you’re freezing a piece of history in time, a moment that will be preserved and remembered even long after you're gone. This realization ignited a flame of excitement within me—I started to think, “Hey, maybe I could do that, too!” This thrilling thought only deepened my passion for photography, which continued to blossom as the year progressed. Later that same year, we took an unforgettable class trip to Washington, D.C. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been intrigued by history and politics, even at that young age, so I was absolutely ecstatic to experience the capital. Armed with my trusty iPhone, I embarked on a photographic adventure, capturing memories across the city, and that was the moment when my love for photography truly began to flourish.
